AGRICULTURAL and NATURAL RESOURCES CENTER

670 Old Harrisburg Road, GETTYSBURG, PA 17325

This inaugural Art Market was a great success, featuring a variety of oil paintings, pen-and-ink sketches, watercolor paintings, pottery, woodwork, photography, and jewelry.

Artists who donate their art to the Land Conservancy’s annual Art Auction are eligible to participate and exhibit their work free of charge at the Art Market in a 10 ft. x 10 ft. display area.

Other activities included plein-air artists, native plant tours, a caricaturist, a fire art display, and kids’ activities, including face painting and crafts.  It’s all free and open to the public!  Also on hand were vendors of all kinds of goodies to tempt the palate.

The Art Market was part of “The Gettysburg Fringe Festival,” the community compliment to “The Gettysburg Festival ~ Celebrating America,” June 18-27, 2010.  The Fringe Festival showcases a comprehensive collection of community events taking place within Adams County’s thriving arts community.  Just as “fringe” is a decorative finishing touch, “The Gettysburg Fringe Festival” enhances “The Gettysburg Festival ~ Celebrating America.”

A complete listing of community events associated with “The Gettysburg Fringe Festival,” along with a complete listing of 60+ cultural events associated with “The Gettysburg Festival ~ Celebrating America,” can be found on the website www.gettysburgfestival.org.
